Leadership built through resilience

Turning lived experience into informed legal support.

Darrell Ewing founded WARTACTICS PARALEGAL AND CONSULTANT SERVICES to bring structure, discipline, and client-centered support to people navigating complicated legal processes. His work is grounded in uncommon lived experience, intensive independent legal study, and a belief that preparation can give people a stronger voice in matters that affect their freedom and future.

During 14 years of incarceration while maintaining his innocence, Darrell developed his paralegal knowledge in the law library. He prepared legal documents, studied court rules, and helped other incarcerated people pursue their cases without charging them. His own litigation journey included years of appeals and self-advocacy before his murder conviction was overturned and the trial court dismissed the charges in 2024.

Darrell also used his legal skills to advocate beyond his individual case, including filing a federal civil-rights action challenging the suspension of in-person visitation and outdoor recreation at the Wayne County Jail. That combination of research, document preparation, persistence, and first-hand understanding now informs the work of WARTACTICS PARALEGAL AND CONSULTANT SERVICES and his Beat the Odds advocacy.

He is currently pursuing his law education at Wayne State University, continuing the formal study that supports his long-term commitment to law, justice, and community service.
